Equipment for Water Treatment
What is a water softener?
A water softener works on the principal of “cation exchange”, in which ions of the harness minerals are exchanged for sodium or potassium ions, effectively reducing the concentration of hardness minerals to insignificant levels. The exchange is accomplished in a tank using an ion exchange media consisting of tiny beads made from a special plastic material.
After a period of use, the sodium or potassium ions are completely exchanged and the unit must be “regenerated.” This requires the use of sodium or potassium chloride, which is loaded into the brine tank and dissolved to form a brine used to recharge the system.
Our water softeners use Fleck control valves, which come with a variety of features. The Fleck control valves:
- Can be pre-set at installation to suit your water
- Automatically regulates regeneration for efficiency and longevity
- Are sturdy and non-corroding
- Have a by-pass valve and quick release for ease of use
Our salt storage tanks feature:
- Large storage capacity
- Sturdy construction
- A basket that eliminates bridging
Automatic salt service is available upon request. We will service your conditioner every 2 to 4 months to fill the brine tank and give your system a 10 point check-up, with free delivery. All you pay for is the salt.
